GOING against the Hollywood trend of "unique" (AKA bizarre) baby names, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber have decided on a simple moniker for their new born son.

Far from Sunday Rose, Suri Cruise or, most recently, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz's little one Bronz Mawgli, the A-list couple's second child has been named Samuel Kai Schreiber.

Samuel was born on Saturday - just 16 months after the pair's first son, Alexander "Sasha" Pete - and weighed in at a healthy 7 lbs., 13 oz.

"Both mum and baby are doing great," the spokeswoman said.

Celebrity watchers around the world have referred to the Funny Games actress's pregnancy as the longest ever, after the baby's "imminent arrival" was speculated as early as October.

This was compounded by the fact that the notoriously private Watts never publicly announced she was pregnant despite her burgeoning belly, with Schreiber only telling reporters late last month they were expecting.

The couple met on the set of the 2006 drama The Painted Veil.
